Sean Brennan  FCA

Sean is the Managing Partner of Sean Brennan & Co, Chartered Accountants. The firm was established in 1983 and has grown organicllay each year since being establish.
 
Sean studied his Bachelor of Commerce degree in UCD and graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree, achieving 3rd place in his final B. Comm, exams.
 
Sean trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG (Formerly Stokes Kennedy Crowley) and was awarded 3rd place in the final chartered accountancy exams in 1980. During his seven years with KPMG he specialised in the audit of medium and large companies.
 
In 1981, Sean was selected by Stokes Kennedy Crowley to participate in their International Careers Development programm and was transferred to Boston, where he worked for Peat Marwick Mitchell (SKC's international associate) for a period of 18 months. While in Boston,  Sean was responsible for leading the audits of very large corporations, including Gillette Safety Razor and General Electric Turbine.
 
When Sean returned to SKC Dublin, he joined their corporate tax planning department, where he gained invaluable tax planning experience.
 
Sean left SKC in 1983 to set up Sean Brennan & Co in October 1983.
 
In addition to managing the practice, Sean is available to meet clients to offer professional advice and assistance on any business and tax matters.
 
With 30 years tax experience Sean spends much of his time advising clients on particular tax planning scenarios. He also advises and implements the procedures necessary to achieve the maximum tax advantage where clients are retiring, transferring their business to their children or selling the business to third parties. This can be very complex and it is critically important that the correct professional advice is obtained well in advance of the succession process, in order to avoid pitfalls resulting in significant tax liabilities.


Mary Kennedy

Mary is the Office Administrator and has been with the firm since 1985. She acts as the interface between clients and our staff.
 
In addition to co-ordinating the scheduling of the office work, she looks after the weekly/monthly payroll, PAYE/PRSI revenue returns for a selection of clients. She also handles the bookkeeping and VAT for certain clients.
 
The firm has a significant number of pubs, hotels and restaurants, who require liquor licences and Mary arranges for tax clearance certificates and other documentation in order to have the licences renewed.

 
Michelle Phillips FACCA

Michelle qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2000. She has been working with Sean Brennan & Co since 1997.
 
Michelle looks after all of the accounting and taxation requirements for a portfolio of clients consisting of small and medium size enterprises. This involves preparing their annual accounts, corporation tax and income tax returns. She is also responsibe for ensuring that all necessary documents are filed with the Companies Registrations Office in a timely manner.
 
Michelle also advises new businesses on the most appropiate business structures to adopt , whether that is a sole trader, a partnership or a limited company. She arranges for the formation of limited companies, tax registration and setting up banking facilities for new business clients.
 


Nadine Groves MIATI

Nadine is a qualified Accountant's Technician and is partly qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant. She joined the firm in 2000.
 
Nadine looks after the book-keeping and Value Added Tax requirements for a large number of clients. She ensures that proper books of account are maintained in accordance with Company Law and Revenue requirements. She also deals with Revenue to ensure that tax liabilites are kept up to date.


Padraig Somers CPA

Padraig qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 2007. He joined Sean Brennan & Co in 2001.
 
Padraig looks after the accounting and tax requirements for a large number of clients. He is also responsible for filing all necessary returns to the Companies Registration Office.
 
Padraig also assists clients who are starting up in business, advising them on the most tax efficient business structures and preparing business plans etc. for banking finance.
 

Eimear Leacy ACA

Eimear trained and worked for Ernst & Young from 2005 to 2009. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008. During her time with Ernst & Young,  Eimear headed up the audits of medium and large companies, particularly in the banking and financial services sector. As a result of this experience she is highly skilled in supervising the audit of limited companies that require an audit.
 
Eimear joined the firm in 2009. Since qualifying as a chartered accountant she also qualified as a tax specialist.
with Chartered Accounatnts Ireland.
 
Eimear looks after a portfolio of clients , where she completes the annual accounts and corporation and income tax returns. Due to her significant audit experience, she also supervises the audit of those companies that require an annual audit.
